Keith Partridge is a main character of The Partridge Family. He is the oldest child of Shirley Partridge, and the older brother of Laurie, Danny, Chris and Tracy Partridge.
Background[]
Keith's father died six months before the start of the series.[14] At some point, he and his siblings started a garage band, with Keith as the guitarist, arranger,[15] and primary songwriter. As of early Season 1, he has a driver's license and is allowed to drive the bus by himself. He goes to San Pueblo High School.
On the series[]
After the Partridge Family's previous singer, Gloria Steineman, comes down with the mumps, Keith and his siblings talk Shirley into singing Gloria's part on the recordings. With Danny's help, the Partridges get Reuben Kincaid to manage them, get a record deal, and get booked at Caesar's Palace. During their first live performance, Keith and his siblings are paralyzed with stage fright until Shirley tells them to close their eyes and imagine they're still in the garage.
After their first record is a hit, Keith deals with mobs of girls chasing him around, but most of them lose interest once the novelty wears off.[16]
During the first season, the family goes on tour to places including Hawaii,[17] Paris,[18] and Canada.[19]
During this season, Keith makes his first attempts at getting a day job (as a plumber, a salesman, and a paper boy), although he's immediately fired from all three of them.[20]
In The Selling of the Partridge, Keith is elected student body president of the high school.
After Season 3, Keith finishes high school and starts attending San Pueblo Junior College.
Personality[]
Keith has been known to have some pig-headed moments, but when it comes down to it he cares deeply for everyone. Keith considers himself the leader of the group. Keith acts the same as most teenage boys, aside from the whole travelling in a band, and being famous thing. But Keith still cares for his family and has been known to get kind of protective of his siblings and mother.
Looks[]
Keith is as said by his brother Danny "...the sex appeal" of the group. He is average height and has shoulder length brown hair. He has fair to tan skin and hazel colored eyes.
Quotes[]
One thing's for sure: she's not hooked on your humility.[21]
