Daniel R.[2] Partridge is a main character in The Partridge Family. He is the third child of Shirley Partridge, following Keith then Laurie and before Chris and Tracy. Danny has a lot of initiative and despite being a child he strongly shows business like qualities.
Danny is the main reason that The Partridge Family has a manager and has all the success. While Danny was babysitting his sister Tracy he took her to a hotel where he had heard a record manager (Reuben Kincaid) was staying, and he wanted Reuben to sign them to his label and become their manager. And after being very persistent he signed them.
Background[]
Danny was born two weeks early, after Shirley unexpectedly went into labor during a picnic in Napa County.[3] When Danny was five, he tried to jump off the roof with a makeshift parachute.[4] Danny's father died six months before the start of the series.[5] Since then, Danny has been trying to talk Shirley into investing in the stock market. At some point, he and his siblings started a garage band, with Danny as the bassist.
On the series[]
After the band's previous singer, Gloria Steineman, comes down with the mumps, Danny and his siblings talk Shirley into singing Gloria's part on the recordings. Danny tracks down Reuben Kincaid (along with Tracy, whom Danny is babysitting) and persuades him to manage the group, first by knocking on his hotel room door, then by calling his room and playing Let the Good Times In over the phone, then by following him into an airport bathroom and playing the song. Danny and Reuben get the group a record contract, and within four months, they're performing at Caesar's Palace. During their first live performance, Danny and his siblings are paralyzed with stage fright until Shirley tells them to close their eyes and pretend they're still in the garage.
During the first season, the family goes on tour to places including Hawaii,[6] Paris,[7] and Canada.[8]
As of Season 3, Danny's teacher is Mrs. Kennedy.[9]

Danny is small with flaming red hair and his face is covered with freckles. He has hazel colored eyes. He is usually seen with a horizontally striped shirt and plain slacks.
