The Partridge Family Wikia

Cindy Brown is a close friend of Laurie Partridge.

Background[]

Cindy's father is the principal, and he holds Cindy to high academic standards. She's gotten multiple Cs on recent tests. She's been so busy studying for her other upcoming tests that she's had no time to practice math, and she's sure she'll fail. To prevent that from happening, she steals a copy of the upcoming math test.

On the series[]

The day before the test, Cindy gives the stolen copy to Laurie Partridge and asks her to leave it in the mailbox of Mr. Felcher, the math teacher. Mr. Felcher catches Laurie in the act and thinks she stole the test. Before long the whole school knows that Laurie has been accused of cheating. The next day, Laurie and Cindy meet up outside the school. Cindy explains why she stole the test and says that she's terrified of what her father would do if she failed the test. Cindy does get a good grade on the test, but when her father congratulates her, she cries. Keith Partridge interviews Cindy at the Taco stand because he's figured out that Laurie is protecting someone but hasn't figured out who. He thinks Cindy can tell him who really stole the test, but he gets no useful information from her. During Laurie's trial, Keith, who is acting as her defense attorney, asks Laurie if she knows who stole the test. Laurie refuses to answer. Keith says that Laurie must be protecting one of her friends. Cindy finally confesses. After the trial, Cindy apologizes to Laurie for what she put her through.
